750-HOUR BARBER PROGRAM
Our 750-hour Barber Program combines flexible hybrid learning with hands-on practical training designed to prepare students for licensure and real-world barbering.
Students begin with 12 weeks of hybrid theory, then transition into 26 weeks of in-person practical training focused on haircutting, shaving, sanitation, state board preparation, client service, and the business of barbering.
THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TAKE BARBERING SERIOUSLY.
Barbering can create flexibility, income, and opportunity, but building a real career takes more than learning a few haircuts.
TBOBA is designed for people who want to learn the craft, understand the profession, prepare for licensure, and build the habits needed to succeed behind the chair.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you start. You do need to be willing to learn, show up, practice, and take the process seriously.
If you are looking for a real path into the barbering industry, not just a quick way to make a few extra dollars, you are in the right place.
750 - hour Barber program
Our 750-hour Barber Program is designed to give students a clear path from learning the fundamentals to building confidence behind the chair.
The program combines flexible hybrid theory with hands-on practical training, so students can first build the knowledge they need, then apply it in a real barbering environment.
You’ll move through the program in two phases: 12 weeks of hybrid theory followed by 26 weeks of in-person practical training.
Throughout both phases, the focus stays the same: helping you develop the knowledge, technical skills, professional habits, and confidence needed to move toward barber licensure and a career in the industry.

12 Weeks of Hybrid Theory
Your barber education begins with 12 weeks of flexible hybrid learning designed to build the knowledge you’ll need before transitioning fully onto the clinic floor.
Students complete theory coursework online at their own pace while receiving in-person support through reviews, module exams, office hours, and instructor guidance.
During this phase, you’ll build your foundation in barbering theory, safety, sanitation, client care, state board preparation, and professional practices.
The goal is to make sure you understand not only what to do, but why you’re doing it before you begin applying those skills in a hands-on environment.
26 WEEKS OF HANDS-ON TRAINING
After completing the hybrid theory phase, students transition into 26 weeks of in-person practical training focused on developing confidence and consistency behind the chair.
You’ll apply what you’ve learned through guided practice in haircutting, clipper work, shear work, shaving, sanitation, consultation, client service, and real clinic-floor experience.
This phase is about more than completing hours. It’s where knowledge becomes repetition, repetition becomes skill, and skill begins to become confidence.
The goal is to help you become more capable, more consistent, and better prepared for the expectations of working in the barbering industry.
Completing your required training hours is only part of the process.
Throughout the program, students build the theory knowledge, practical skills, sanitation habits, and test-taking confidence needed to prepare for Virginia’s barber licensing exams.
State board preparation is reinforced throughout the program so licensure is not something students suddenly begin thinking about at the end.
Our goal is to help students finish training prepared to take the next step toward becoming licensed barbers.
THE GOAL ISN’T JUST 750 HOURS.
THE GOAL IS LICENSURE.
BUILT FOR THE REAL BARBER INDUSTRY
Learning how to cut is only part of becoming a successful barber.
Students are introduced to the professional side of the industry, including client experience, consultation, professionalism, personal branding, business basics, and the habits needed to build a career behind the chair.
The goal is to help students leave school with more than technical ability. We want them prepared to step into the industry with confidence and direction.
